Police evicts bus near Birmingham, motorway M6 closed to traffic

British Police are conducting a huge search operation on the M6 motorway near Birmingham.

All the passengers have been asked to evict the bus and lay on the tarmac. Entire motorway has been closed for traffic.

In all, Megabus, the bus company says that 48 passengers were on board, and they are assisting in the operation

According to CNN, armed policemen cordoned off the area and closed the motorway M6 near Lichfield after reports that a smoking bag was seen onboard the bus.

In view of the upcoming London Olympics, police in the UK are at highest alert mode to avert any possible terrorist attacks.

Search dogs are helping in the operation and bomb disposal squads are also on standby.

There are also unconfirmed reports quoting police officials that it is not a terrorist related search operation.
