Tech giant Google during its annual I/O conference in San Francisco introduced world’s first eye-glasses with Internet connection. Project Glass had been talked about in the media for quite some time now.
The multifunctional Google Glass works as a camcorder, it can stream video and take photos. According to company’s co-founder Sergey Brin, the price of these glasses is 1.5 thousand dollars and as of now only conference participants will be able to place order for them.
Google came up with an innovative and quite unusuial way of presenting its new product this time through skydiving. A group of paratroopers wearing these glasses descended on the roof of building, where developers’ conference is being hosted. At the same time the cameras mounted in gadgets, streamed the video to the hall in real time. Thereafter the goggles were delivered to the conference hall on on sports bikes, and real time pictures of the journey were also streamed through the newbie and audience could see it all on a gigantic screen.
Sergey Brin while presenting the Google Glasses to audience said that this is new technology, and the company wants them to help it with its further development. He added that the company also wants to bring it as soon as possible into the hands of those who are interested. While boasting the qualities of this new gadget, he said that one can now actually be ahead of the planet, and the pictures as seen by one’s eyes at that very moment will be seen by millions, reports the Associated Press.

Google Glass can take photos or videos and transmit them over the Internet in real time. Display in the “glasses of the future” is located just above the eye, so that the user is not distracted from what he or she is doing. Earlier, company in its clips showed that the new gadget can send voice messages, schedule meetings, has GPS and other applications.
Google spokespersons however did not answer queries about the release date in open market. According to Brin, as of now the limited edition Google Glass can be booked only by the participants of I/O conference which would be shipped next year, and are priced at 1.5 thousand dollars.
In addition to Glass, Google also introduced to the world its new budget tablet PC Nexus 7, which will be launched in late July 2012.
Size of Nexus 7 is identical to that of Kindle Fire from Amazon and Galaxy Tab 2 from Samsung. By weight (340 g), it will be much lighter than Apple’s iPad.
